Cross Country Ski Condition

No matter where they gather, the topic of conversation among skiers and snowboarders will center around one question: Where's the best snow? One ski resort consistently serves as the answer to that question: Steamboat. And, when Steamboat opened for the season on November 24, 2010, the ski conditions were better than any opening day in the history of the ski resort.

Located in north central Colorado, Steamboat Springs, and the nearby Steamboat Ski Resort are the home of "Champagne Powder", which covers the 160+ trails on Mount Werner and adjacent peaks like powdered sugar on a box of giant green cupcakes. There always seems to be great snow at Steamboat, but sometimes, the ski conditions are record breaking.

Steamboat Ski Resort in Colorado

With Denver 160 miles to the southeast, Steamboat is the only major ski resort in this part of the state. This isolation, along with the nearly 3000 acres of ski-able terrain scattered across several mountain peaks, means that Steamboat is rarely crowded, even on weekends. When the crowds do roll in, skiers rarely have to endure the lift lines that are so common at other ski resorts.
