Deer Tick

Deer Tick is a Providence, Rhode Island band that is destined for greatness. This five-man band takes its cues from alt-country and folk, but also has a healthy dose of old time Rock and Roll. Deer Tick comes off like a cross between Ryan Adams and Buddy Holly. It works perfectly.

Deer Tick’s recent main release, Born on Flag Day, jumps through many genres but never loses sight of melody. The singer, John J. McCauley III has a gravelly voice that reminds the listener of an old whiskey soaked bluesman, but it contrasts well with the band’s early Rock melodies.
